Services at St Swithun's normally follow a monthly pattern. Please check the calendar below for details of events during the week, and the monthcard for services taking place over the coming weeks.
9.30am Holy Communion with Young Church Our main weekly gathering to worship and enjoy each other's company. We run two groups for young people, one in the Church Hall with craft and activities, and a discussion group in the Vestry. Both groups join everyone for Communion together Third Sunday of each month Messy Church A lively service, lasting about an hour, for all ages involving creativity, celebration and hospitality, beginning with a community breakfast. Morning Prayer Whilst Messy Church happens in the church building, Morning Prayer takes place in the next door Church Hall, for those who prefer quieter worship. 4.00pm
Second and Fourth Sunday of the month Compline A quiet service to end the week. |

Church Calendar
What if I have children?
Children are a vital part of our community, and we want to help them to worship and grow with God. Your children are always welcome in the church, and will never be frowned upon for joining in noisily, having a good fidget, or exploring the church. It is their space to worship in as much as anyone else's. Jesus told us that the kingdom of heaven belonged to the little ones, and we think the best way to discover what that means is to encourage them to be included in our worship.
Of course, some services will be a better fit for kids than others. Messy Church is a great place to start, with a focus on worship for all ages. At the 9.30am Holy Communion service our fantastic team run Young Church in the church room for the first part of the service, with a disussion group for older children taking place in the vestry. Everyone joins back together later. For those too small, or who don't want to leave their parents, we have a breakout space on the north side of the church to stretch small legs!
For children in school years 4 and above, we also run a weekly youth group in term time. For more information, click the button below:

Kennington Community Larder

St. Swithun's Parish Church and St. Swithun's Primary have joined forces to partner with SOFEA Didcot to run a Community Larder in Kennington.
So what does a Larder do? - A Larder tackles food waste ... all the food is in date surplus that would have gone to landfill. - A Larder helps top up the weekly shop affordably. Anyone can join .... it is £4 a week for individual members and £8 for families. Larder's also create a friendly space to meet new people, have a cuppa and a natter while picking up your food.
